The Trust
The Frank Taylor Memorial Trust for Surgical Research was set up in 1995 In memory of Frank Taylor, founder of the Taylor Woodrow Group. It supports surgical research, education for Junior Doctors and patient information within the NHS, primarily at St George's Hospital, Tooting and North Middlesex Hospital, Tottenham. Education: There are regular case presentation competitions for Junior Doctors with a monetary prize for the winner. These are advertised locally in the North Middlesex and St. George's Hospitals (see Projects/Competitions) Grants are also available for travel fellowships and after initial discussions with Mr Melville or Mr Stoker, applications should be made to the trust c/o Mr Terry Howse stating the nature of the project, the amount of funding to be raised and a CV (see Contact us). Support is provided for Educational meetings within the home hospitals. Patient Information: in the past the trust has provided printers for the outpatient department so that patient information leaflets can be printed and given to patients at the time of their appointment, providing information about their diagnosis and planned treatment. Other equipment provision has included the purchase of a Colonoscope, printers, scanners and a camera for the North Middlesex Hospital.
